This whole thing with Madame Oceane and Uncle Luc is very much reminding me of Uncle Gard and Aunt Corneila from the Samantha stories, which I find very cute

I really like the atmosphere of this book with the big colorful houses and fountains. The class divide of the rich Americans and middle to lower class New Orleans people is interesting aswell
