I predicted the twist early but kept hoping it wasn’t true. The whole trope of the jealous friend being the murderer is nothing new.
However, as someone who sometimes goes into research spirals on cave diving accidents, I felt claustrophobic ON BEHALF of the characters! The descriptions of the dive were so visceral. Now insert a murder plot and you have a truly suspenseful read, with some surprises throughout.
