Reading this on a lovely hot Sunday, tolerable with the breeze and green canopy of the trees; I had to come back here to see the tags for this book. Thinking it must be YA, because the text is as flat as an AP report; and so far all the things the "people don't know about," I actually remember and know quite a bit about. The migrant crisis regarding Central America is not new.

I'm not sure what is going on with her writing or the translation, but it feels completely off. I typically love her writing. The story is compelling, hard not to be with Nazis at your protagonists door. But it feels flimsy, like paste instead of pearls.
