What I found the most curious and interesting was the subtleties the devil uses to tempt. Particularly his use of near relations and those who are godly (the wife of Job tempting him to curse God, and Peter tempting Christ to forsake his suffering). Charles Spurgeon discussed these exact passages in the book I just read when writing about Satan and temptation. I wonder if this book is where he got that idea from.
