I don't review many books, but I have to say that this one was a huge disappointment. While it was instructive to brush up on a lot of common history that I was unaware of (mostly European military history), the arbitrary and anglocentric choices here were staggering. Two articles on Hitler, for example, with no mention of the Holocaust. A discussion of Pearl Harbor but no mention of the US nuclear attack in Japan
