Eww gross I love this book and its jarring worldbuilding so far. The gothic atmosphere so far makes for an interesting read, it doesn't shy away from the grisly details. I'm still warming up to the characters, and the plot hasn't picked up yet, so far the setting is doing the heavy lifting, but that's fine by me.
