Chapter 6
158-159 I'm glad to see that hollows can regain a little humanity and act like themselves for a moment.
163-166 I like the explanation of how the soul society deals with civilians. Classic makes them forget.

Chapter 7
167-189 Just a solid introduction to the next arc, but good to see little slices of life.

Chapter 5
128-130 Cool first glimpse of Ichigo's first thoughts in a difficult battle. Shows his character, how quickly he is to identify and look for civilians.
135-143 Sora immediately plays on one of my greatest fears, that someone I love will just become a twisted evil version of thier own wants and dreams. It reminds me of the D&D explanation of vampirism.

Chapter 4
116-118 This explanation makes hollows seem so evil. To think anyone could become a hollow if they aren't taken care of is haunting.
119-123 Being a normal human as a hollow hunts you looks terrifying. Truly a story from a horror novel.

Chapter 3
89 - 95 Orihime might be the most relatable anime woman to date. Big, gets into accidents and daydreams all the time. That's her.
100 - 106 The idea of fighting hollows of people you knew, or seeing them turned into such a monster, is a neat bit of world-building. Also, seeing the consequences of Ichigo's slacking or reliance on brute force, meeting Rukia's overabundance of caution is a good payoff.

Chapter 2
Very interesting philosophical start for Ichigo and Rukia. Ichigo being unwilling to be self-sacrificing for souls, and Rukia is so self-sacrificing that she's stripped away her own power to do that. Who knows how long Ichigo will feel a debt?

Chapter 1: Part 4
... feels no guilt is very striking to me.
43-51 Ichigo's heartbeat sets the pace of the fight, back to tense moments until Rukia starts thinking about his immense power. Showing that Rukia is quick-thinking and resourceful, while Ichigo is powerful and deliberate.

Chapter 1: Part 3
... instance of the monster making noise was on page 13, but Rukia and Ichigo only recognize it on page 23.
26-27 Beautiful use of a page turn to make me think Ichigo broke his arm.
26-35 In these, large silent panels, the onomatopoeia, when read as dialog, gives a slow, tense idea to the fight, which is broken by the moment Rukia slides in and talks.
37 Rukia taking time to ensure Ichigo feels...

... and has a way of foreshadowing future events, and showing ties to past events through illustrations only. Seeing the little girl ghost get killed by the hollow, when we don't know what a hollow is yet, made me think it was just a description.
20-21 The little gags are charming, as well as the small panels that resolve them, like wiping the marker off Ichigo's face.
13-22 I think the first...

Chapter 1: Part 1
4-6 The first pages are old manga racism, which is disappointing.
8-10 I think having a family of 4 is a really bold move, and we get a solid view of them early on.
4-12 The use of narrative text in the black bars is strange. I find it easy to miss them.
4-14 This is where two important things can be seen. The author has a great use of onomatopoeia, something that I have to pay great attention to...
