I genuinely may DNF this because it’s infuriating. I understand that it’s a “retelling” and a dark one at that, but everything that was interesting about the source material was replaced with cheap dark romance tropes that are incredibly overdone and frankly boring. Cade is insufferable and I genuinely cannot take him seriously, and Amaya isn’t very likable either, leaving me with little to care about tbh
