CCA rebranding as corecivic oh yes ive heard of you

Thurgood marshall—aka civil rights lawyer who eon brown v board and was the first african american supreme court justice—‘s son (thurgood marshall jr) being on CCA’s board since 2002 wtf????????

Gosh. This was a nauseating section. More torture, more sexual abuse/assaults, more cruelty from humans and from companies and governments. How to go about the rest of day after reading the stories we, as a society, have suspected, but are never detailed? Buried or ignored. I’m still at the table. Would reading another chapter help? A new story to try to bury the last, as has been done historically? I don’t know.

Re: cca has no schedule, dont know when meals are, if school/programs are on, if the law library is open, etc bc cca doesnt care and doesnt have staff to operate it all. “Guards bond w/ prisoners over their frustrations.
