I picked this up while thumbing through shelves of books that we need to destroy at my job, not expecting a gem, because I grabbed a book without looking. It's turning out to be all I needed to get out of this reading rut!
I'm learning so much about the Israeli occupation in Palestine and other areas in the early 60s. So much history I knew was told, but I was not privy to. I'm so glad this book found me when it did!

I literally started reading another book because this one is so good I don’t want to finish it! I don’t want the characters’ stories to end, as certain characters get older, like Alia, i see similarities to folks in my family and I’m just shedding tears on every page!
I need to know more about these families, and how they ended up, what their homes and lives are like now! I need more, it can’t be over!
