Day 3 Story 10

Perhaps you've never heard it explained how the Devil is put back in Hell so I want to tell you how to do it. You'll also learn that although Love prefers to dwell in gay palaces and voluptuous bedchambers more than in poor huts, he sometimes makes his powers felt in dense forests, on rugged mountains, and in desert caves—from which you'll be able to see that everything is subject to his power.

Day 3 Story 9

Giletta of Narbonne asks for the hand of Beltramo of Roussillon, who marries her against his will and then, in disdain, goes away to Florence.

There he courts a young woman, whom Giletta impersonates, sleeping with him and bearing him two children, as a result of which he finally comes to cherish her and acknowledge her as his wife.

Alls Well That Ends Well is based on this story.

Day 3 Story 7

Wherein we find a love affair, murder, unjust accusations and a full blown tirade against the friars of Giovanni Boccaccio’s day.

“Friars of old sought the salvation of mankind, the ones today desire women and wealth, and all their efforts have been aimed, as they still are, at striking terror into the souls of simple people.”

Day 3 Story 6

An author obsessed.

Now that the lady knew how much tastier the kisses of her lover were than those of her husband, all her harshness toward Ricciardo was transformed into sweet affection, and she loved him from that day forward with the greatest tenderness in the world. Moreover, they were able to go on enjoying that love of theirs time and time again. And may God grant that we enjoy ours as well.

Day 3 Story 5

The wife considers enjoying an affair:
“Since I'm here all by myself, and I have no reason to fear because there's nobody about, I don't see why I shouldn't take advantage of such a good opportunity while I can. No one will ever know a thing about it, and even if it were to get out, it's really better to act and repent than to do nothing and repent about that instead." ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Day 3 Story 3

An attractive married woman tricks a friar into becoming an unwitting go-between between herself and a man who has caught her fancy while her husband is off on a business trip.

“Having ascertained that he liked her as much as she liked him, the lady was possessed by a desire to enflame him all the more and assure him of the love she felt for him.”

Day 3 Story 3

A groom falls in love lust with the queen and impersonates the king in order to get into her bed.

“Burning in Love's fire, he did whatever he thought would give the Queen pleasure and would stand close by her stirrup, when she rode her palfrey, thinking himself blessed if he was merely able to touch her clothing.”

[A palfrey was a lightweight riding horse known for its smooth, ambling gait.]

Day 3 Story 1

Wherein a convent and its gardener have plenty of seeds to plant and plentiful crops to harvest ❤️

“There are many men and women who are so stupid as to really believe that when a young woman has the white veil placed on her head and the black cowl on her back, she is no longer a woman and no longer feels female cravings, as though when she became a nun, she was turned into a stone.”

Day 2, Story 10

A young woman, kidnapped by pirates 🏴‍☠️, chooses to remain with ‘Jack Sparrow’, rather than return to her husband.

“I have no intention of ever returning to you. For if you were squeezed till you were dry, they couldn't get a spoonful of sauce out of you.”

For hubs used every excuse not to have sex or whacking (their word) with her while the pirate sought every opportunity.

Day 2, Story 9

Two men enter into a wager whether the one, Ambruogiuolo, can seduce the other’s faithful wife. Ambru contrives to get into her bedroom when the husband, Bernabò, is absent, and views her naked body while she sleeps. He later relates to the husband what she looks like sans clothing. Wild with jealousy, Bernabò plans to have his wife murdered. But she survives and the story does not end there.
