I cannot lie, I’m having a great time. Not much plot, but I love the characters so far! Each motivation feels different enough, though the voices are a tad similar. But that tends to happen in these lotr high fantasies when the beginning is world exposition. I’m excited to keep going!!

I can absolutely see how this is a love letter to lord of the rings !! It’s definitely not the same quality (said with love) but I’m really enjoying the way aveyard is using LOTR style storytelling strategies without being too on the nose. That being said, Dom is definitely an elf. And that’s okay!! But that’s an elf species <3
