Trigger warning! I am glad (?) I read this book, because the hardships of trail life is just downright shocking and hellish? The deaths were the hardest to take, and there are graphic scenes of how women were taken advantage of. I think I will take dysentery and broken wagon wheel from the Oregon Trail game growing up. The relationship between these women and their stories for the journey got told throughout.
