I read about Hang Tuah of Malaysian legend (Knight of Swords), Druids and the White Stag, Irish Mythology, (The Hermit), Enkidu and Gilgamesh, Iraq, Sumerian Mythology (Two of Cups), and Hah-nu-nah, the World Turtle, Iroquois Mythology, North America (King of Coins, more commonly known as King of Pentacles).

Next up, Sita of the Ramayana, India, Hindu Epic Ramayana (Two of Swords).

I have made a lot of progress in reading the fairy tales that correspond to the cards of this Tarot Deck. I especially enjoyed reading the fairy tale about Vasilisa the Beautiful--a Russian fairy tale--which corresponds to the Nine of Wands.

I think at this point I have to roughly forty or so Tarot Cards left to go.

At the fairy tale about Yennenga, from Burkina Faso, and a Mossi Legend, depicted on the Six of Wands of the "Tarot of the Divine," also written and illustrated by Ms. Yoshitani.

I read about Sleeping Beauty, and Italian folk tale, and about Anansi, a Ghanaian Trickster God. They are depicted on The Hanged Man and The Wheel of Fortune Cards, respectively.

Read about "The Nightingale," which has origins in China, and is also a Danish fairy tale.

The corresponding Tarot Card is the Four of Cups.

I read about Scheherazade of 1001 Nights, the Turkish/Arabic folk tale.

This fairy tale is represented on Key II, The High Priestess Card from the "Tarot of the Divine," also written and illustrated by Yoshi Yoshitani.
