Watching Alton grow from an uncoordinated teen to a confident young man who helped Lizzy endeared him to me. Lizzy’s anger and lack of trust rang true. Those she learned to trust were a comfort.
One intimate scene between a husband and wife revealed character, but I would have preferred those flaws be expressed another way.
This powerful story had twists and turns that drew me in and will stick with me.
