Just finished Part Two (the trial). The first few chapters of Part Two had me so frustrated with Michael for being so detached and cold. And by the end of the Part, he had close to no reaction to Hanna being sent to jail for the rest of his life. His passive attitude in this Part reminds me of how he saw his father when he was younger. In the previous part he adopted the traits of his mother dominantly.
