It wasn’t a bad book by any means, but I didn’t resonate with it. The middle was good, the build of their relationship was nice and the acceptance of his death was heartbreaking but well done. And then it all gets tied in a rather neat bow which usually I’m all for. But here, it feels a little forced. I liked the characters but the worldbuilding was a bit too surface level. And the ending did not land for me.

Christ this is the slowest of slow burns. Still not sure what to feel honestly. I’m enjoying it for what it is, but what it is… there.

Im eating it up now I wont lie. Farren is a dick. The Starmaker doing his ‘if i see you again, you’ll die’ bit was… exquisite. But I dont see this ending well. For either of them.

Damn the wedding is almost here. I know Farren is going to cause a scene.

Oooo I love a fake marriage moment. Making a spectacle of the union makes sense. And the Starmaker admitting she’s attractive aloud is interesting. I’m warming to it. Slowly. Rather punny, considering the content.

Lord am I struggling through this. Aurora is insufferable. Yes, she’s young, but still. And the Starmaker, god, moody, but reasonably so. What a fucking pair they make.

Oooo a forced marriage plotline. Now things are getting interesting.

Honestly not sure what to think yet. The setting is… pretty generic. The fairytale aspect, of a village that requires a Starmaker to funnel light and keep this magical Frost at bay is interesting enough. But idk. We’ll see how it goes.
