What a harrowing tale- shipwrecked, starved, enslaved, and escaped! The misery was palpable and I felt genuine sadness at the death of Sidi Hamet and Bel Cassim. While I appreciate setting the scene, there was a little too much extra that made it tedious to read at times. Now I want to see if I can find Riley‘s memoir!
