Book 1 - 5
the rage of Achilles and the dreams of agamem on and war onto the battlefield is all pretty nice, and the divine intervention throughout and the god's acts are very funny at times, diomedes parts are the most interesting to read till book 5

i get that repeating is a thing in oral poetry tradition, but the amount of time Nestor boasts about his youth and how he wish he were young throughout the book is just so funny everytime 😭😭😭

this is where we get to see the actual rage of Achilles fs, he's gone crazy indeed
in a way Achilles shows no honour here, only caring about honour in a selfish way, while killing Hector and after that
where Hector is more heroic and glorious, even in the face of death, atleast here and not completely too, considering he doesn't fully giving into fighting it out in the first place, but most of all

agamemnon sucks as always
the part where they all protect patroclus body is quite interesting, showing honour to thier dead companions.
Achilles rage changing from agamemnon to hector, and this being more than rage (Achilles: "but what joy to me now") reminds me of him claiming somewhere that he would've preferred to have a normal life over fame with a shorter life if he had a second chance

menelaus almost showing mercy to the captured soldier but not agamemnon, more than ransom/money or helen he's into war, pride and honour
ain't it obvious to Odysseos that Achilles doesn't care about all that gift only an apology from agamemnon, where he still haven't accepted that it's his wronging.
dDomedes and Odysseos spying and killing of the spy, both sides going against thier honour ,interesting
