Very interesting chapter summarizing the autobiographies of people applying as teachers or members of the workers party. They had to justify their background and formulate a narrative to be evaluated on their trustworthiness for political and pedagogical influence. E. g., if you had a supporting role during colonial rule, you had to justify that and show you had a change of heart.
