The final story, "The Butcher's Table" may bump what I thought was gonna be a 4 star short story collection to 5 stars instead. Just the concept of a dark fantasy/horror genred story having pirates, satanists, and angels is enough for me to like it, but the writing is so clever and so effective, and so much of it recontextualizes the previous stories. It's so good
