Progress is slow, as to follow all the arguments, occasional re-reading of Kant and Marx is necessary. It is an interesting read, with lots of paradoxical notions (e.g., how Leftist political correctness stimulates racism). Currently reading about the universal Communist Idea, Kantian enthusiasm and the fallacies of parliamentary democracy and contemporary capitalism.

I am amazed by the complexity of the arguments Zizek is proposing against the current post-modern capitalist world we live in. I enjoy his analysis of Lacan and how he describes our desire for filling the void in one's own identity (which is impossible since the void is constitutive) directly plugging us into a system that feeds on our disappointment of fulfilling our desire steered by consumerist self-re-creation.
