I can’t speak for the overall narrative of the story because I’m still not sold on it. BUT the prose is really beautiful and often very clever.

The writing is very beautiful but I’m not loving the story yet

I don’t know HOW this guy is going to be a love interest. He’s really pathetic and a bit annoying.

this book is really romanticizing a parasocial relationship with a 1000 year old Rosie the Riveter right now??

Some impressive writing so far. The MMC was definitely written by a woman, his entire personality is a little unrealistic but I can suspend my disbelief for now.

It was quite boring in my opinion, but I’m the outlier here. I hope it’s better for you!

With so many stellar reviews I went looking for one where someone said what I was thinking and found yours and was very comforted, lol. "failed to consume me the way I wanted it to" indeed! Their relationship is also strange to me, it seems he has more of an obsessive fascination with her than love for her? And then all of a sudden -snap- they are both painfully in love seemingly out of no where?
