Yeah :/ That was unfortunately also an issue I had reading this (like there's also this surface level 'obviously transmisogyny is BAD. However, what if we (tme) reclaim her?') which was really annoying.
Have you read Zefyr Lisowski's piece yet? If you do enjoy that one, I can absolutely recommend her horror movie themed memoir essay collection "Uncanny Valley Girls", it really blew me away!
