Lesson 16 is a bit tone deaf. In an ideal world, everyone in the US would have a passport, but many people in the US cannot afford to leave the country. This is especially true of people in landlocked states and is exacerbated by increasing travel costs, increasing cost of living, and lack of paid time off. Why would they spend the time and money to pay for a passport that they will never use?
