...so when Prince "corrected" the correct lyrics of "The Cross" to conform with Jehovah Witness' erroneous theology in the 00s, that was a Sign that he needed prayer for salvation. How many CHRISTIANS prayed for him during the 80s? Denise Matthews faithfully prayed for him after she became born-again Christian in the 90s. Her death 2 months before his is no coincidence. Only death changed Prince's mind about God...

"Crime doesn't pay but horny rock stars do!"
The last line in Prince's short ("A Twisted Tale About Two Bums Living The...Hard Life") sums up how Prince misused his power on those he hired. God showed him this vision to illustrate this truth to Prince. The credits said "Misdirected by Prince"...but his servants still didn't get it. He confessed his sins...but didn't repent (stop committing them!).

To overcome our demons, we must actually carry our cross and follow Christ, nailing our passions and sins to His cross. If we refuse to do that, then we will be defeated by those demons who specialize in hiding in our blind spots. Jesus shines the light on our dark corners and challenges us to let Him clean us of all unrighteousness. Rx: Confess and repent (turn away from sin, toward Christ).

Prince "knew" that God is the Ultimate Healer but he didn't follow God's prescriptions in the areas of dance, music, sex, and romance. Prince developed hip problems because he wore heels ("the ladies like them") while dancing and refused to wear flats (vanity), and he wouldn't stop fornicating. He killed himself and (unknowingly?) predicted his own death many times ("Sexual Suicide", "Sometimes It Snows in April").

I don't drink alcohol or do any other kinds of official drugs. And I used to quickly judge drunks and addicts as "weak". But God showed me that there are many ways to be intoxicated. Dance, music, sex, and romance are many people's drugs of choice. Prince found out the hard way that he was an addict. God is the only one who can ease our pain, heal our sickness, provide strength to get through hard times...

"For those of you on valium, my name is Prince."
This is a good example of why his fans and coworkers are so surprised by his official cause of death: he was openly anti-drugs...
...but God is a fan of irony to expose hypocrisy. A person remains a hypocrite when they do not face the truth about themselves. People use drugs for pain relief, escapism, and "performance enhancers". Music can become a drug...

"The Cross" also paints a bleak picture of troubled times, but argues that there is a better life to come as salvation awaits all who can withstand the suffering...contributed to the general impression of the album as Prince's most serious and mature work..."

"The Cross" was recorded on a Sunday, which was typical of many of Prince's songs with spiritual themes."
This is significant since Prince was raised Seventh Day Adventist. They strictly observe the Sabbath and worship only on Saturdays. God was showing Prince the truth expressed in Colossians 2:16-17. Marvin Gaye's dad was also bound by religiousity rather than a relationship with Christ.
