reading an english copy of this book and I have noticed the use of present tense to describe the past. for example, chapter 34 ends with the phrase “the bulb burns out yesterday.”

after messing around with some translation guides it seems like swapping “burns” and “burned” doesn’t change the translated sentence, so I am wondering if this is intentional or a translation issue? maybe i’m ignorant?
