Icarium just took one step on to dry land and the ground is literally so scared of him that it caused an earthquake and then Karsa Orlong just picked a guy up and tossed him around like a basketball. And then immediately afterwards we get a Bugg POV section. Good news everybody, the book’s finally starting.

Thanks! I’m either looking forward to the gnarliness or dreading it, depending on how I’m feeling about Malazan this week
I think both responses are appropriate. I started struggling with the series a lot after book 5 but this one has some real highs, at least if you don't mind extremely detailed descriptions of fantasy battles
