this book is strange. struggle to pick it up, but once reading can’t put it down. susan makes the tension between characters feel tangible and knows how to describe a landscape beautifully

i like how you can feel arthur’s annoyance about superstitions and people not telling him what’s wrong with eel marsh

landscape and character descriptions are beautiful. struggling to get into the narrative, hope i don’t not like this book.
