Finished book of Lamentations. scholars believe book was written by Jeremiah also called the weeping prophet. Judah was sieged for 2 yrs, instead of depending on God they depended on their king who asked Egypt for help against Babylon, and Egypt tricked them. This is what happens when we trust man to protect us! Men mere mortal only wants what is best for themselves, even if it means giving up their wife & children.

Finished book of Jeremiah. In the world’s view he was unsuccessful. No one liked, believed or took his advice. But God saw his obedience and that made him successful in His eyes. We need to measure success by God’s eyes, not the world’s. It will look very different, this should be our first clue.

Finished Habakkak. Prophet to Judah prior to their exile to Babylon. He communicated with God on behalf of the people, this was different than others.

Finished 2nd Kings & 2nd Chronicles. Judah has fallen & taken captive, the last of the kingdom of the people of God, but God is still merciful and we learn that a pagan king shows kindness to last living king of Judah and releases him from prison and allows him a seat at his table, Zedekiah, just like our Lird does, for us sinners.

Finished Nahum. The minor prophet had a big job to do ‘he pronounced God’s judgment on Assyrian and comforted Judah with this truth’

Finished Isaiah “For the faithless there is a sobering portrayal of judgment. For the faithful, there is a picture of great reward”- ‘so will your name and descendants endure’ Isa 66:22b. I’m in the faithful camp. Praise HIM.

Finished Hosea. God told him to marry Gomer, an adulteress who would hurt home, yet he would forgive her. God wanted Hosea to go through what He goes through with us, His sinful people. Love & Justice, only God can and will love us perfectly. He sent Jesus to die for our sins…

Started finished Micah. He prophesied to the general public unlike Isaiah who at the same time was prophesying to the kings and priests of Judah & Israel! These were the people of God who had completely turned away from Him. The same can be said to us. “Only when we we live according to God’s way will we begin to affect our homes, our society and our world” see Micah 7:20

Finished Amos. God foretold through Amos that he would bring judgment in Israel & Judah and it was so the captivity and exile to Babylon is historical. Amos prophesied that God would withhold his words could be referring to the 400 yrs of silence between end of The Old & New Testament. God calls us to be faithful through His blessings and serving others with our wealth and blessings.

Started Isaiah who is one of the major prophets. Isaiah is the prophet most quoted in the New Testament including Jesus! There will be minor prophets throughout Isaiah’s time! God timed it so Israel and Judah would be warned to repent. We don’t sin in a vacuum and God gives us ample opportunity to repent!
