I really wanted to enjoy this one, but it really dragged. it was trying to do a lot. It felt like I was reading a sequel - lots of references to past action, glossed over world-building and lore. the action and intrigue in the first half was good, but then the geopolitics and the running around on errands really dragged things down. and in the end what did the angels get out of it all? idk.
