I like seeing Wadjda challenge the rules of Saudi Arabia, and realising that women aren’t confined to one single thing. She’s very headstrong, which is something to be admired, especially when she lives in a community that require women to be silent

Getting more progressive about the separation of women and men, and the struggle of being a school-girl in an Islamic country

A bit slower but I like the characters - especially Widjada and Abdullah

A dry start, I am only having to read this for my English high school placement and this was the prescribed text. Otherwise I don’t think I would read it myself in my own time.
