I’m about halfway through, and I’m seriously considering DNFing. I’m really turned off by books where the FMC talks a big game about not wanting to depend on a man, only to become completely dependent on one. The MMC seems to enable that dynamic (some might call it supportive), but I see it differently. So far, it’s making it difficult for me to connect with the story.
