This is a great read for any lay person interested in aesthetics, beauty, harmony and how Aquinas viewed these topics through the viewpoint of a young Umberto Eco (who I think was a professed Catholic at the time of writing this.) Aside from the main arguments of this book, Aquinas' Latin inevitably takes the center stage. The crux of this interpretation of Aquinas is how the church should interpret poetry.
