RECOMMENDATION REQUEST:

okay so unpopular opinion I know but I want a fantasy book that does not have dystopian elements/a rebel movement. So nothing like Red Queen, Powerless, The Prison Healer, etc

Cece ✿ I would prefer if it has a romance side plot but it’s okay if it doesn’t. and for spice, I want closed door or none, but it’s okay if it’s open door as long as it’s only a scene or two

Lillian B (Kaladin Stormblessed version) I'd recommend Way of Kings!! There's no dystopia elements to the plot, and there's romance side plots!!

Oksana 🩷✨💐 The Shadow Between Us is exactly what you’re looking for!!!!

Lillian B (Kaladin Stormblessed version) I'd also recommend Mistborn--the fantasy world it takes place in has been destroyed and has ash and no green plants, but it's not for the same reason as dystopia books, and while some characters are part of a thieving crew that's trying to take down the Lord Ruler, they aren't really rebels.

Oh, and there's romance as a side plot in Mistborn, and it's perfectly appropriate and there's nothing beyond some mentions of kissing, and the romance is SO GOOD
I'd actually recommend any book by Brandon Sanderson for a book like that, lol

˚✧⁎Sayurii⁺˳✧༚ {I’ll listen to the memories as they cry} Emily Wilde. Whimsy vibes.

𝔸𝕘𝕟𝕖𝕤 Maybe Heartless? Would that count? UHMMMM maybe six of crows, DEFINITELY the kiss of deception, and perhaps tress of the emerald sea.

OneMadReader Entwined by Heather Dixon
Ella Enchanted and Fairest both by Gail Carson Levine
Bella at Midnight by Diane Stanley

Those are all the recs I can think of right now and hope they help! 🫶

EnchantedEva You could try Caraval, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Apprentice to the Villain doesn’t have much of that?

message 10: by Cece ✿ (new)

Cece ✿ @Agnes I read Heartless and loved it, and I actually have Six of Crows and the kiss of deception on my physical tbr! I haven’t heard of tress of the emerald sea though so I’ll check it out

message 11: by Cece ✿ (new)

Cece ✿ @OneMadReader thanks for the recs, I’ll check them out!

message 12: by Cece ✿ (new)

Cece ✿ @EnchantedEva I love both the Caraval and Assistant to the Villain series but have not read Tress of the Emerald Sea, I’ll definitely have to read it now that two people have recommended it!

Journey Bloomfield A Forgery of Fate is really good, (I really enjoy Elizabeth Lim's YA books!) Also the webcomic The Silver Eye is AMAZING. Also Glass Across the Sea by Sara Ella!

Abby (Reader of Clean Books) Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan is amazing!
