I will always love when fairy tales turn into horror!

And can I just say how much I’ve missed Puck! Going through the Golden Age Arc (mostly) without him was torture. It was bleak! It is so good to see him and his colorful personality and fun expressions. I really love the way Kentaro Miura draws the comedic scenes with him. They’re great. The cover of “Misty Valley 1” is so good! I’d read a whole fantasy series with him as the protagonist.

The Holy Iron Chain Knights and their leader Farnese (who has the absolutely coolest design!) are very interesting! They’re following Guts’s trail to investigate the possibility that he holds some importance to their religion. They’re on a “mission of Miracle Recognition” as she put it. I wonder if they have magic! I really hope that they do!

I don’t know what it is but the elves turning into children after they die is really morbid. The designs of the Guardian are nightmarish and borderline body horror. I do not how Kentaro Miura even comes up with something like this. I feel so bad for Jill.I hope she gets out of this unharmed. She’s been through enough already. She doesn’t need evil elves hurting her or turning her into one of them on top of that

A LOT has happened! First of all, the elves and the Misty Valley reminds me so much of Peter Pan and Neverland (not that I’ve read the book/play nor do I remember the Disney film all that well but you get the idea) and they’ve turned into evil, nightmarish creature so quickly it gave me the chills. And Jill was seriously considering turning into one of them…absolute madness. Though I understand her reasoning.

Guts has been going through hell! The demon infant coming from the bonfire and bringing the souls of the children Guts (accidentally) killed to haunt him and force him to kill them yet again was cruel. This must be really traumatizing for him. I wonder how this all will end.

I really like this arc! The fairy tale of Peekaf was wonderful! I loved it a lot. And how it was used to with Rosine’s story is just brilliant. She saw herself in Peekaf and his feelings of being an outcast, and she clung to it for hope that she too, can escape to a better world. Her story as a whole is so tragic. And I love the fact that she’s got her hands on a Behelit too. It’s so, so good.
