“You should wake me,” I say thinking about how I can interrupt his sleep two or three times on a bad night. About how long it can take to calm me down. “It not necessary. My nightmares are usually about losing you, I’m ok once I realise you’re here.”

No show of love, however believable, will turn this tide. If my holding or those berries was an act of temporary insanity, these people will embrace insanity, too.
