I skipped the introduction and will come back to it, but the preface essentially says how it updated the phrasing of the English translation from Ancient Greek, and uses a non-literal style, changing how a word is rendered eg. κᾱ̆λός kā̆lós not just as beautiful, but also as attractive, good-looking, fine, or right, depending on the context.
