Goddamn is this boring. I was promised unusual magic system and instead I get court interaction after dull court interaction. And more boring travel. Why does this feel like those scenes in Robowar with the overly excited music to people just slowly walking through a jungle with NOTHING happening?

My mistake in reading this at the same time as a Hobb series. It feels like playing with a paper doll next to an American Girl.
Pug's journey is kinda stalling and the fact they're in essentially a Moria was a little meh. Like come on, goblins infiltrated this cave too? Wowie zowie! Bet we're gonna fight 'em! Is there also a special sword? Whoaaa. (Please don't be named some variation on Sting.)
