reading this only bec it’s been on my shelf for years, i want to finish reading it before all the pages yellow and wither away. i am not enjoying it. i think i really don’t care for petit bourgeois individualistic ennui, which most french writers seem afflicted by. there are real problems in the world and feeling like there is something wrong with you when nothing’s wrong makes you an annoying person.

i think i’d actually care about this more if it was written by a woman, that’s my biggest gripe with this—why are you as a man… ykw, whatever
