I really wanted to love this book, especially because it tells the story of two girls, one Japanese American and one German American, whose families are held in the same internment camp during World War II.

The ending disappointed me. It felt like the story kept building and building, and then it just… stopped. It was a good read for the historical perspective, but the ending just didn’t do it for me.
