This book does have some interesting things that I hope are answered. The main character, Farris, is a bastard. Who is his father, and is he royalty because of his Fai race (kinda like elves)? What happened to his sister? A slave named Kiam sings a song (kinda a prophecy) about a rebel slave who leads an uprising, is Farris the rebel come again? Will Farris unlock his magic powers?

Not a lot of imagery and it feels like most parts of the book could be fleshed out more. Also a lot of sexual violence
