Out of curiosity, what’s the difference between the two? Because now I’m thinking I may have done the same thing in my book… 😅

A palace has turrets, your average Disney looking palace,not a castle...lol...a castle is fortified with a surrounding wall and battlements which make the castle courtyard. Basically palaces are elegant without fortifcation, castles are pratical with fortification.It's very common for people to interchange the two, but in reality they aren't the same.
