I didn’t expect the political tension to be so engaging, especially between Gormflaith and Sitric. The fact that he is slowly slipping from her control is making her become more power hungry than ever, so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Tomas, once again being a PRICK by sending Fódhla on a mission where he thought she wouldn’t succeed!? How’d ya mean? The plot thickens🧐

Tomas is PISSING.ME.OFF. Manipulating Fódhla and Rónnat like that? That was personal.’You’ve always like your sister more than me’!?. Tell me you’re insecure without saying it. And the whole ‘I think you’ll find life easier without her’ convo? Who the fuck does he think he is? I was about to say how Rónnat is blameless, but there is the hints of something that happened with Aoife. We shall see🧐

Second time attempting to read this,and it’s much better than I remember. Gormflaith is a boss bitch who will not be told what to do, and is a master manipulator, which I deeply respect. Fódhla and Rónnat’s sisterly bond is so sweet, and the way that Aoife haunts both Fódhla and Tomas is heartbreaking. ‘She didn’t recognise me in the end’ and ‘You can’t lock everything you love away’😭
