I really appreciate how precise and clear Fricker's writing is. It is hard to read because the ideas are complicated and require deep concentration, but is also easy to read in terms of the way the words on put on the page

But is the not making eye contact, pausing to organize your thoughts mid-utterance, actually a reliable stereotype (that the speaker is dishonest)? I haven't found that to be the case, personally (my personal "reliable stereotype" is the reverse anyway)
