between the flowers in the attic-esque sadistic mother character, the orientalism, the zionism, and the dated sweeping condemnation of women's lib, i don't think i'll reread this one. worth reading once though. i bet there's a paper somewhere analyzing all the ways those -isms intertwine w/ each other.
