i am loving this book way more than the first and that never happens to me. i think it’s the additional characters and us being keyed into their own worlds. usually i would feel it’s too confusing or overwhelming but it’s not. the book just feels more real and honest and i find the other characters actually interesting. last book felt mainly focused on nachel’s storyline which i get but got tiring to me (!)

applause! 4.25-4.5 stars. this really was a lot better than the first: more drama, more action, a plot to harm rachel?! Like I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, what was going to happen next to the characters and i LOVE the descriptions of wealth. it’s like when ppl watch reality tv of the rich, it’s just interesting to see and learn about lol. i know, i know. also this book made me like rachel even more

getting used to the narrator of this audiobook… her accents of non-asian characters are … interesting. i think i might like the set up of this book more than the first. still kinda early but the concept of multiple characters trying to piece how they’re going to reconcile with complicated family dynamics is just a *bit* more interesting than *is rachel going to fit in* very simplified but essentially the gist
