The book is certainly wonderful and unexpected. I knew I’d learn facts about a handful of creatures that aren’t often talked about (or maybe ones even I didn’t know). However, I didn’t know I’d get to read about little snippets from Nezhukumatathil’s life growing up as an Asian American child in Arizona. It feels warm and comforting like a home-cooked meal.
