So far this book seems to be a commentary on parenting and family life. More analytical than emotional. Surprising since the story is about high school friendship. As a girl who was severely wounded by friendship in middle school I am shocked by the friend with the least grandma name’s response to being avoided by granny Elle and grandma Marge.
