i do not understand the need to mention israel. to mention it acknowledges its existence and therefore legitimize an illegal occupation. sure, talk about 2017 US politics and ignorant comments people made (re: the current admin), but it’s extremely pointed write that specific conversation (about a paragraph) in a book published in 2026 when the atrocities are at the forefront of our media.
